Woohoo! Down to the last tenth of the comic. Here Lestrade is hatless while in the train. The original illustration of Sherlock and Watson in a train indicates gentlemen had hats on while on trains, but I say Lestrade was hot, or had the hat as a foot stool... I dunno. The point is, two less hats to draw. :P

The parlour game mentioned is an actual parlour game from the late Victorian era, a game you could only play once. Bet they couldn't wait for someone to invent the internet..

Watson in the train is ref'd from a still from The Copper Beeches I think, and THANK GOD I found a ref for the train station! And the cab.

I just discovered this wonderful comic and now I'm sitting here in a puddle of FEELS. I love the progression between Lestrade and Watson, and the overarching poignancy of Holmes' absence. So beautiful and on point. I can't wait to see more of your work!

Oh my goodness. I just went throught what must be my fifth or sixth complete re-read of this comic. (A few are missing in your comic's folder by the way.) Completely stunning work! I really can't wait for the last few pages, though we Holmes fans are a very, very patient bunch. (I am a little sad knowing that we only have about 5 pages to wrap everything up, meaning we probably won't see Mr. Holmes reaction to John and Ghislain's new relationship.)

I also have to say that I am impressed by the number of plotlines you have going on this little comic. Holmes' disapearence, Moran's revenge, Mycofts' plotting, this whole thing with Neville and Mr Newt, and of course the whole horrible, dreadful things happening at the Neville's mansion... And of course, the courting of Lestrade by a handsome military man. ;)

Thank you for your lovely comment! :hug: I am so happy to hear you are re-reading it, and that it stand up to reading and isn't completely incoherent. I have forgotten a lot that was in the beginning so when I finish it I will sit down and read it and it will be a totally new comic. :D

The plot lines sort of happened when I embarked on framing the original three pages with a bigger setting. Only W and L, though they are hawt, would quickly grow boring. One has to mix up the hotness with less hot, i.e. old geezers and servant girls. :XD:

Awesome! Speaking of the parlour games, I guess it was fun to find someone green enough to puzzle it out? Sort of like sending a kid for a left-handed pencil?

This particular game must've work out pretty quickly. And it's not even a fun solution.. once it's revealed that its the double letters that is the key it's still completely pointless. Poor Victorians!

Oh gosh, I love this page. Poor Lestrade is clearly so distressed, while Watson is back to his dashing self... The panels with the train station look brilliant, with the annoyed top-hat-clad gentleman giving that man an earful. It's all just brilliant, and I think I need to reread the whole thing, like the person above me ;)

Thank yoou! Glad you like the station, it was one of those panels that provided a real challenge, even with a reference for the architecture. And do re-read, that it awesome it can be done at all cause I've forgotten the first 10 or so pages. :D
