A scene from Norse mythology (<- the old religion that was around before Christianity came to Scandinavia). The god Heimdall, on his horse Gulltopp, and the god Odin, on Sleipner, are racing each other back to Asgard after a quick visit to Midgard (Middle-Earth). These divine nags are not depending on ground to reach high speed, water or air works just fine too. Trailing behind the riders are Odins two ravens, Hugin (thought) and Munin (memory).

Sketched on paper and then painted in Photoshop. It was a lot of fun to paint the horses, animals are so much easier than humans..

Thanks! Yes it's a bit tricky to fit eight legs on a horse - the hind legs are the worst. Luckily I could hide his butt in a cloud. ;)
